Below is step by step instruction for installing Beyondspace’s plugin on your Squarespace websites

How to Install and Update plugins

Install the Plugin

After your purchase, you will see an Installer Script on the Order Status page (we also send this to your Order confirmation email!). This script is the needed to power your plugin.

1. Copy the Script: Copy the entire code block provided.

2. Go to Squarespace: Open your website dashboard and navigate to Settings > Pages > Custom Code > Code Injection.

3. Paste in Footer: Find the Footer section and paste Installer Script there.

4. Save: Hit save, and follow the on-screen steps to activate your plugin!

Tip: Use the Admin Quick Access tool to jump to Code Injection in one click.

Update the Plugin

Squarespace evolves quickly, and we release regular updates to ensure your site stays compatible and fast. Updating is simple and doesn't require any technical skill.

1. Get the Latest Installer Script: Revisit your original post-purchase page (you can find the link to the page via your Order confirmation email) to copy the newest Installer Script.

2. Paste the Installer script into Footer Injection in new line

3. Save: After saving Code Injection, follow the on-screen step to update the plugin

Your plugin will now be updated with the latest features and fixes.

How to update Beyondspace plugin settings

Some plugins work right out of the box, but for advanced tools like Lightbox Studio or Squarespace Datepicker, you can customize their settings to better suit your needs. To simplify this process, I’ve created dedicated playgrounds where you can easily tweak the default configurations.

The Modern Way: Ground Control

Starting in 2026, the easiest way to manage your plugins is through Ground Control. Once you have installed the Ground Control extension on your site, you can change your plugin settings visually right from your Squarespace dashboard. There is no need to copy or paste code; your changes are synced to your live site automatically.

• Install Ground Control: Ground Control is free to install.

• Access the Menu: Find the Ground Control icon at the top left of your Squarespace editor after install.

• Select Your Plugin: Choose the specific plugin you want to tweak from the list.

• Save & Sync: Click Save to persist your changes instantly to your live site.

Tip: You can also use Ground Control to activate a free trial of any paid Beyondspace plugin. This allows you to ensure compatibility with your site before purchasing. Note that free trials work inside your Squarespace Preview only.

The Classic Way: Using the Playground

Here’s how to update the settings:

1. Visit the Playground: Access the plugin’s playground, where you can explore and adjust various settings (see below)

2. Change the Settings: Experiment with the available options to find the perfect setup for your website.

3. Copy the Generated Snippet: Once you're happy with the settings, switch to the Code tab and copy the newly generated snippet.

4. Replace the Current Code: Navigate to your Footer Code Injection area in Squarespace. Locate the plugin snippet (marked by unique opening and closing comment blocks), and replace the existing code with the new snippet.

Using the Datepicker Playground

   Visit the playground in Squarespace datepicker landing page

2. Load Your Current Site Settings:
   Input your website URL into the "Your website" field. This helps the playground retrieve your current configuration for a seamless update process.

3. Customize Your Settings:
   Use the intuitive interface to update datepicker rules, styles, or other preferences to match your website’s requirements.

4. Replace the Snippet:
   Copy the generated code snippet and replace your existing datepicker snippet in the Footer Injection section of your Squarespace site.
